Nile Curtis
Nile, being born in South Africa and raised in Switzerland, discovered massage nearly two decades ago after having moved to California. Nile initially focused on Deep Tissue techniques working in a chiropractic setting, in which he learned effective rehabilitative bodywork. He soon discovered Hawaiian Lomi Lomi after meeting his future wife and kumu (Lomi teacher). His love of this work brought him and his family to Hawaii, to be immersed in and learn from the culture and practice of Lomi Lomi on the islands. Nile’s 18 years in massage have led him to what he calls Deep Lomi: a blending of Western and Polynesian styles which combines grounding and soothing work with a strong structural focus.

She also learned Singaporean style Reflexology with sticks, although she prefers to use her own hands to perform her sessions. Kinue believes energy should “flow like a river,” leading her to start all her sessions with preparing her client’s body over the sheets.
